Special elections for Alabama House delayed

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) —
Voters in four counties won't be going to the polls Tuesday for special
elections to fill three vacancies in the Alabama House of
Representatives.

Gov. Robert Bentley said Monday he's delaying the elections for a week because of a forecast that includes snow and ice.

The
elections are for House District 104 in Mobile County, House District
53 in Jefferson County and House District 31 in Elmore and Coosa
counties.

Republican Margie Wilcox and Democrat Stephen Carr were supposed to face off in House District 104 in Mobile County.

Anthony Johnson and Arthur Lee Shores were matched in the Democratic runoff in House District 53 in Jefferson County.

Mike
Holmes and Jimmy Collier were supposed to compete in the Republican
runoff in House District 31 in Elmore and Coosa counties.
