City of Auburn Hosts Animal Care Week

Auburn, Ala. – The City of Auburn Environmental Services Department will promote responsible pet ownership during Animal Care Week
held the week of September 24-29. This year's theme, “Healthy Pets,
Healthy People,” promotes the importance of taking responsibility for
your pets while walking or playing in area dog parks. In honor of Animal
Care Week, the City has organized a wide array of activities, one for
each day, starting Monday, September 24 through Saturday, September 29. 

 

  •  Monday, September 24            
    Promotion of responsible pet ownership on local radio outlets
  • Tuesday, September 25            
    Leash training for new dog owners at Town Creek Park at 10:00 a.m. 
  • Wednesday, September 26      
    Animal care information available at the Auburn Public Library
  • Thursday, September 27           
    “Love Your Pet Walk/Run” at Kiesel Park at 6:00 p.m.
  • Friday, September 28                
    Distribution of pet packets at Town Creek Park
  • Saturday, September 29           
    Woofstock at Kiesel Park:
    Animal Control presents “Ask the
    Vet” with Dr. Mary Smith of Auburn University Veterinary School from
    9:00-11:00 a.m. to address animal care concerns from pet owners.
