Miss South Carolina looks to inspire with weight loss
Florence, SC (WIS) – A lot of pageant winners choose a healthy lifestyle for their platform but the new Miss South Carolina has a lot invested in her health.
Bree Boyce's road to fitness was a long one. She has revealed that she lost 110 pounds prior to entering the pageant. Tuesday, at her home in Florence, South Carolina she was showing off the size 18 pair of jeans she used to wear. She is especially proud that she also won a preliminary swimsuit competition at the pageant held Saturday in Columbia. She hopes her personal story will inspire others with weight problems.
“Anything is possible you don't have to do a pageant, I didn't lose weight to be in a pageant, I lost weight for my health and there were so many things that I wanted to accomplish in life, I wanted to be on Broadway, I wanted to go to school, I wanted to play sports and I wanted to run and becoming Miss South Carolina is the icing on top of the cake,” she said.
She will represent South Carolina in the Miss America pageant in Las Vegas in January.
