Sunday alcohol sales bill corked for his session
by Stefanie Tiso
A Sunday alcohol sales bill is dead for this legislative session.
Senate majority leader Chip Rogers said Thursday, the Republican caucus decided there was not enough support to go forward.
The bill breezed through committees without opposition. But after saying they would rather fight the bill locally, some opposition groups began pressuring lawmakers to kill it.
The bill would have allowed Georgia communities to vote on whether they want alcohol sales on Sunday.
